Water Service

LACSD provides high quality drinking water to its customers 24 hours a day in accordance with the Rules and Regulations which can be found here. The Rules and Regulations identify the terms and conditions under which LACSD will provide water service to its customers. By accepting service, customers explicitly and implicitly agree to be bound by these Rules and Regulations.

Water Service Area

LACSD provides water service to Arrowhead Woods, Deer Lodge Park and Rimforest. The map below indicates LACSD’s water service boundaries. To view LACSD’s sewer service boundaries, click here.


Water supplied to Arrowhead Woods comes from Lake Arrowhead, local groundwater sources and imported water from the Crestline-Lake Arrowhead Water Agency (CLAWA).

Water supplied to Deer Lodge Park comes from local groundwater sources and imported water from the Crestline-Lake Arrowhead Water Agency (CLAWA).

Rimforest is solely supplied by the Crestline-Lake Arrowhead Water Agency (CLAWA).

Neighboring Water Agencies

Our community is served by multiple water agencies. Depending on the location of your home or business, you may receive water from one of the following water agencies if you are not within LACSD’s water service area:

Water Meter System

All water supplied to LACSD’s customers is metered with Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI). This technology allows LACSD to proactively monitor for leaks and improper usage. This technology also allows our customers to monitor their own water usage. Click View Your Usage to learn more.

Water Distribution System

LACSD’s water distribution system includes 135 miles of pipeline, 7 groundwater wells (with more in development), 3 treatment plants, 21 water tanks and 20 water pump stations running continuously, 24 hours a day. Watch this short video to see more about LACSD’s infrastructure LACSD and You.

Water Treatment

Drinking water is sourced from Lake Arrowhead, groundwater wells and some imported water. It is treated at one of our two treatment plants through the following process.

• Chemicals such as Alum and polymer are mixed into the water to coagulate any impurities and destroy bad taste or color
• The chemically coagulated water is filtered through an adsorption clarifier where it passes upward through a bed of buoyant adsorption media.
• A small amount of chlorine is added to prevent bacteria from developing. The amount of chlorine is carefully measured to be the lowest possible amount needed to keep the water free of microorganisms.
• The water is then slowly filtered through layers of sand, gravel and anthracite to remove any impurities that are left.
